Next Top Spiritual Author – Indie Wolf – Touching the Sacred through Sound intro

Hi! My name is Indie Wolf, and I would like to introduce you to my book, Touching the Sacred through Sound: Exploring Music as a Path for Spiritual Transformation. This book weaves together music from many genres and traditions, with wisdom from some of the most visionary spiritual teachers of our time. Through this exploration we bridge the gap between music as mere entertainment and music as a transcendent experience, highlighting the possibilities of sound to raise our consciousness, deepen our connection to Spirit, and change our world!

Our deepest longing as human beings is to feel connected ~ to each other, our inner wisdom, and our Source. Yet in the chaos and over-stimulation of daily life, we often feel separate, lost and alone. We feel there is something missing…a hole we need to fill. Much of the spiritual journey is about rediscovering our connection, and I have found that one of the most profound paths is through music.

I love the beauty and power of music! It has always been a very important part of my life. I recently had the honor of working with a deeply spiritual group of musicians for several years, and it was during this time that the seed for this book was planted. From my own experience as well as those shared with me by the musicians and fans, I began to be very aware of how potent music is in transcending our barriers to knowing who we really are, and truly feeling our connection to our spiritual core.

I have been on my own spiritual journey for many years, and have been inspired by the messages of a variety of teachers and paths. I began exploring how music can inform and enhance these messages, providing an even deeper experience of spiritual recognition. As well, music may serve as a portal through any resistance we feel in healing our past and living a joyful and authentic life.

Touching the Sacred through Sound consists of 3 sections: the first explores our longing for more awareness of our spiritual connection, the process of spiritual transformation, and how music can initiate and amplify these experiences.

Section 2 will guide you through a number of spiritual practices, providing practical tools and suggestions for using music to begin or enhance your daily practice. We will also explore how to access and express your own passion and creative essence…as Wayne Dyer says, “Don’t die with your music still in you!” This section concludes with ideas and resources for integrating your growth through these practices into your “outer” life ~ moving toward ever more personal and global harmony.

Section 3 contains many of the conversations I am having with musicians and spiritual teachers who inspire me, and are so generously sharing their wisdom. You will find information on them on the website: http://www.touchingthesacred.com by clicking the Meet the Artists link. Check back often ~ I will be adding more profiles as I connect with those who are called to be a part of this project. Included in the book will be a cd with selections from several of the contributing artists, so that you may deepen your experience of these practices.

Please also Visit Our Blog for more information, news and events. If you are on Facebook, I have created a Fan Page so you will have a place to interact with me, the artists, and each other. You can also follow me on Twitter for updates and special offers. All of these resources are also easily accessed from the website: touchingthesacred.com.

Everyone who buys a copy of the book will receive a complimentary ecourse, as well as free access to our membership site, for further guidance and support on your spiritual journey. I am also designing a program of teleseminars with guest presenters and even more personal interaction for those who wish to connect with a tribe of kindred spirits and share their experiences in this collective energy.

A portion of all proceeds from this project will be donated to non-profit organizations to support those in need of resources throughout the world.

I am grateful to you for taking the time to listen to this introduction to Touching the Sacred through Sound, and I would really appreciate your vote to help me bring this project to Life.  You may go here: Next Top Spiritual Author – Indie Wolf to register and vote.  And please contact me through our blog, facebook or twitter so that we may connect in person!
